William O. Collins: From the Mayflower to the Rockies with Stops in Between

Written by a local author, Brian Carroll,  Lt Colonel William O. Collins provides comments in an 1865 report to the commissioner of Indian Affairs. The picture on the cover of this book helps tell an American story that has been almost 250 years in the making. During the Civil War, Lt. Colonel Collins was an atypical commander of troops assigned to administer U.S. Government policies in managing American Indians.
